I sold it to a herbalist and his client at N40,000 for ritual purposes – Woman arrested with human skull in Edo state reveals
A Nigerian woman identified as Josephine Adun who was arrested with a human skull in Edo State, has revealed that she sold it to a herbalist and his client for ritual purposes.
The mother-of-four who was nabbed by the police on May 6, said she bought the skull at N8,000 from a cemetery attendant and sold it at N40,000.
According to the spokesperson of the State Police command, SP Bello Kontongs, Mrs Adun is the ring leader of a criminal gang specialized in vandalizing graveyards to desecrate corpses and steal their parts to be sold to herbalists for ritual purposes.
The 40-year–old divorcee who deals in traditional items, claimed one Goodluck Charity approached her for a human skull in February and she sold it to him for N40,000, and warned him to keep her out of his troubles, only for her to be arrested in May in connection with his arrest.
Goodluck, a 29-year-old heavy duty operator, speaking on why he bought the skull, said he visited an herbalist, Olusola Oyowokemi, for “soap” to make his business more prosperous and was asked to bring a human skull to be used for rituals.
He said he bought the skull from Mrs Adun for N40,000 and gave her an extra N5,000 for a job well done.
Unfortunately for him, he was arrested by the Police alongside the herbalist.
