Atletico Madrid president, Enrique Cerezo has revealed that his club rejected a £78million (€85m) offer from Manchester City for star player, Jose Gimenez.
The 25-year-old who tested positive for coronavirus on Monday has been linked with a move to Manchester City for some time now, with Atletico turning down numerous offers from the club.
The LaLiga President confirmed that City wanted the player, but that they will do everything possible to keep the defender.
He was quoted as saying: “We did receive the offer”.
“But Gimenez is a magnificent player and we are interested in having magnificent players in the team.”
